Do I have to book a hotel from the official entry form list?

Strict entry forms often require naming a specific, pre-booked hotel from a limited authorized list, which prevents travelers from choosing better-rated or more flexible independent accommodations. This leaves people worried about whether they risk rejection if they book something else or try to wing their trip without advance bookings.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Booking only hotels that appear on the official authorized list
  2. 2
Looking up accommodation options on Google Maps and comparing ratings
  3. 3
booking only a night or two in advance
  4. 4
making sure bookings are refundable or have free cancellation
  5. 5
booking only three days ahead at most
