Are cheap Amazon hand tools actually reliable?

Cheap sockets run the risk of immediately shattering when replacing a twenty-year-old thermostat. For precision jobs like replacing wheel hubs, people cannot trust whether $30 to $50 Amazon torque wrenches work accurately or if they should buy a more expensive one. This uncertainty stops people from relying on budget options when they absolutely need a hand tool to work.
