Why do high-pressure truck tires and split rims explode?
Old, damaged, or mishandled high-pressure tires and split rims can undergo catastrophic explosions during inflation with the force of a bomb. Without proper safety cages or lock-ring techniques, inexperienced workers face extreme hazards and potential fatal injuries from sudden explosive blowouts.
