Contractor ghosted me with a leaking steel shed floor
The contractor failed to install the damp proof membrane correctly up the walls, leaving the steel shed floor damp and prone to leaks during storms. With the contractor now refusing to return calls, the homeowner is left trying to figure out whether part of the concrete floor needs to be pulled up to fix the issue.
What people tried
Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.
- 1Trying to contact the contractor
- 2Considering using a sealant on the outside
- 3Considering pulling up part of the concrete floor
- 4Tearing out wet drywall and using a fan
- 5Cleaning out gutters and caulking small holes
- 6Popping vinyl siding back into the J-channel and caulking with silicone
