Why is my vinyl siding bulging and bowing out?

Random sections of vinyl siding begin to bow, ripple, or bulge outward for unclear reasons. This unexpected movement can leave homeowners confused about the underlying cause and worried about related issues like leaking windows.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
pressing or banging on the bulge to test for give
  2. 2
checking for humming or buzzing to rule out active beehives
  3. 3
inspecting the area during peak sunlight hours to see if heat is a factor
  4. 4
opening or cracking open the siding to investigate inside
  5. 5
gathering installation photos and warranty documents
  6. 6
having the contractor come out to inspect
  7. 7
    hiring a third-party inspector
  8. 8
cutting out bad spots, recaulking, and screwing panels back in

why that one random section and from where would it come? It’s not really near any trees or anything that would cause debris to pile up. I’m confused, please help.source ↗
