Not enough electrical outlets in the room

Rooms with scarce electrical outlets make it nearly impossible to power multiple personal devices like phones, watches, and laptops simultaneously. This forces people into constant bedside charging negotiations or leaves them unable to sleep comfortably while charging their gear.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Using a long extension cord or surge protector from the ceiling outlet
  2. 2
Running surface-mounted conduit and line covers along the concrete walls
  3. 3
Hiring an electrician or handyman to add surface outlets
  4. 4
bringing multi-port charging hubs or USB adapters
  5. 5
packing an extension cord or power strip
  6. 6
negotiating who gets to use the single bedside outlet

“Since it is a converted garage, it has very limited outlets. It only has two, one near the door to go into the home, and another on the ceiling for the former garage door opener.”source ↗

“The electric panel is in the garage, but the walls are concrete so adding new outlets on the wall would be more difficult.”source ↗
