Is Japan still enjoyable in summer or is it too hot?

Extreme summer heat and oppressive weather conditions can severely limit travel capacity and make outdoor sightseeing miserable. This forces travelers to worry whether a bucket-list trip will be ruined by health issues or the inability to comfortably walk outside.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Considering alternative destinations with different weather patterns like Thailand
  2. 2
Looking for specific regions within the destination that might have less oppressive weather
  3. 3
Renting a car for a short distance
  4. 4
    Walking despite the heat

“Hello! I need advice please!! My church and reception space are across the street, with about a 6 minute walk. The issue is that it is 2 pm in July. If its too hot to walk, should we just rent a car?”source ↗

“OP if you take photos outside you’ll be spending way more than 6 minutes outside so the walk across the street shouldn’t be an issue.”source ↗
