How to disconnect a stuck driveshaft with straps off
A stubborn driveshaft remains wedged in the yoke even after removing the retaining straps, catching on an internal clip that makes prying and hammering ineffective. This blockage stalls differential work and leaves the part completely stuck.
What people tried
Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.
- 1Using a hammer to tap it loose
- 2Using a pry bar to wedge it out of the rear yoke
- 3Ensuring the vehicle is unloaded and properly blocked
- 4prying and hammering
