Educational kids shows that aren't overstimulating

Modern educational programming relies heavily on overstimulating animation and overly energized adult hosts acting like children to hold kids' attention. Even newer versions of classic character cartoons have adopted this overwhelming style. This prevents parents from introducing gentle TV time, leaving them stuck with programs they find deeply annoying.
