Where to get honest feedback on a business idea

Most Reddit communities block idea validation through strict no-promotion rules and a strong anti-self-promotion culture. Large, general groups usually just generate noise instead of useful feedback. To get truly valuable signal, you must find small communities where your actual target users hang out and let them brutally tear the idea apart.

“My experience is the brutal part is the valuable part. Big general subs give you noise. Small subs where your actual users hang out will tear the idea apart, and that is where the useful signal lives.”source ↗

“Reddit is not a good place for idea validation because most subs have a no promotion rule and even if they don’t, the culture here is anti-self promo.”source ↗
