Ant infestation in my car - How to get rid of them ?

Getting ants inside a vehicle is notoriously difficult to resolve because the insects nest deep within inaccessible interior crevices and can easily be reintroduced from outside sources. This makes it hard to completely eliminate the pests and stop them from repeatedly taking over the car.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Wearing full hazmat suits and changing clothes in an outdoor bathroom before entering the car
  2. 2
    Vacuuming the vehicle

Hey everyone, I am completely freaking out. I opened my car door earlier and found a massive, disgusting trail of ants crawling all over the door jamb.source ↗

I threw down a Terro Liquid Ant Bait station right on the trail, but honestly, it’s so gross that I live alone and I am currently terrified to even go outside and check what it looks like now.source ↗

Will the bait make it worse before it gets better? Since I'm already freaked out, am I going to walk out to an absolute nightmare swarm?source ↗

How long do I have to wait before they actually start dying off and disappearing?source ↗

What do I do if they are inside the seats? I don't think I can handle driving this thing if they're crawling everywheresource ↗
