I found a small jumping bug, is it a flea?

Confirming a flea is difficult because they are small, jumping bugs that are extremely hard to squish. Finding just one unconfirmed bug triggers intense anxiety about a house-wide infestation, even for people without pets. This uncertainty leaves people unsure of how to react, wondering if washing their bedding is enough to protect their babies and animals.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Treating all household pets with flea medication
  2. 2
Frequently cleaning pet cages and living areas
  3. 3
    Washing all the bedding
  4. 4
Vacuuming once a day for a few days to monitor
  5. 5
Setting out glue boards to monitor and get a proper pest ID
