How do I know what this bump on my new pet is?

Google image searches give too many conflicting possibilities for unknown pet bumps or paw issues, leaving owners unsure whether a vet visit is actually necessary. Without a clear identification, it is difficult to know how serious the condition is or what care the animal requires.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
    using google image search
  2. 2
    Switching from plastic water bowls to stainless steel bowls
  3. 3
    Using a very fine comb on the cat's chin to clear blackheads
  4. 4
    Checking with a veterinarian

“I was looking at his paws and saw this. I tried doing a google image search but it was telling me it could be a lot of different things. Does anyone know what this is and if I need to take him to the vet for it?”source ↗
