What is the best way to load bowls in a dishwasher?

Packing bowls tightly saves space, but spacing them out gets them cleaner and prevents stuck-on food. If bowls still come out dirty and require handwashing, the actual issue is often clogged spray arms, a stuck bottom sprayer, or the detergent rather than your loading style. You must also avoid putting too many heavy bowls on the top rack, as the weight will make the wheels fall off the tracks.
