Mixed up fuel injector parts after pulling them apart
Accidentally disassembling fuel injectors and mixing up their internal components like springs and ball pins makes it impossible to reassemble them correctly, which prevents the engine from starting or running properly. The quotes show that trying to remove injectors by pulling them apart instead of pulling the assembly out causes internal parts to scatter, leaving the owner stranded with a non-starting vehicle.
What people tried
Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.
- 1Coming out of pocket to pay for the remaining fuel injectors to gain peace of mind
- 2Relying on the mechanic's recommendation and only replacing the faulty injectors covered by insurance
