Why does my shower make a humming noise?

A humming noise in the shower while water is running is often caused by a vibrating valve component, such as a loose washer or a faulty pressure-balancing unit in the faucet. This vibration travels through the pipes and creates an irritating sound that can disrupt your home.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Disconnecting the showerhead and cleaning it
  2. 2
Removing the flow reducer or restrictor
  3. 3
    Replacing the cartridge
  4. 4
Using chemical drain cleaners like Draino

My shower drain is clogged (I guess) but draino didn’t fix it. It makes this dripping noise after showering and it lasts through the middle of the night.source ↗
