How do I undo an accidental asset revaluation?
Most accounting systems do not have a simple undo button for asset revaluations, and deleting related journal entries often leaves fixed asset modules out of sync with the general ledger. Fixing this usually requires posting a manual reversing journal entry or adjusting the asset's cost basis and accumulated depreciation directly in the fixed asset register to realign the books.
What people tried
Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.
- 1reversing the journal entries and manually changing values back before performing the valuation again
- 2Manually deleting rows from the Depreciation History Record via Suite Answers and manually firing the script to recalculate underlying related records.
