Shelf brackets or hooks don't match wall stud spacing
Wall studs and shelf or mirror brackets often do not line up, leaving mounting hardware unsupported by beams. This creates dangerous leverage issues and prevents direct installation into structural supports.
What people tried
Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.
- 1Secure a horizontal piece of wood between wall beams to attach the item to
- 2Use heavy-duty toggle bolts or rated drywall anchors

“The mirror has two hooks on the back but unfortunately they are spaced at 24in, whereas my beams are spaced at 16in, so I cannot install it directly into the beams.”source ↗
