How to wash a mattress cover with no care tag
You likely cannot remove the cover to wash it because the bottom zipper opening is too small. Even if you want to guess the cleaning instructions without a tag, pulling the inner material through that narrow gap tears it. This risk of ripping the inside stops you from taking the cover off in the first place.
What people tried
Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.
- 1Washing on cold or warm with standard detergent
- 2Spot treating stains with dish soap
- 3Drying on low heat or air drying
- 4Pinning stretchy fitted edges together with safety pins during drying
- 5Spot cleaning the fabric by hand
- 6Spraying the pillow with isopropyl alcohol to disinfect it
- 7Buying a new replacement cover to put over the dirty pillow
- 8Soaking the entire pillow in a bathtub
