- 7Are full service moving quotes really this expensive?Major full-service van lines can quote upwards of $15,000 to $16,000 for a small apartment move, leaving people to question if these prices are normal. This extreme cost pushes customers to consider much cheaper alternatives like renting a truck or using portable storage containers like U-Box and PODS.
- 6Moving container delivery doesn't match apartment move-in datesMoving container companies often restrict deliveries to specific weekdays and do not drop off on Sundays, which rarely lines up with exact apartment lease start dates. Because transit and delivery schedules can take nearly two weeks, people are forced to take time off work or live in empty apartments on air mattresses with only takeout and disposable kitchenware.
- 5How to move long distance without a trailer or a month-long waitTraditional shipping containers and moving companies require weeks of delivery time and won't work in HOA-restricted neighborhoods, while driving a personal car leaves no room for essential boxes and totes. This leaves people stuck between agonizingly slow freight windows, unsafe mountain towing options, and vehicles that are simply too small to carry everything they own.
