Why won't my new axle go in all the way?

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

   Securing and properly torquing the axle nut to force it to seat

   Checking for aftermarket design or clearance issues

   Putting grease or assembly lube on the end of the joint to center the circlip

   Placing the opening of the clip at the top of the axle

   Holding a slight upward angle and using a circular motion with both hands
