Why is my brake caliper piston so hard to compress?
A seized or extremely stiff brake caliper piston prevents you from sliding the caliper back over new, thicker brake pads during installation. Forcing a stuck piston without freeing it or opening the bleeder valve can damage the internal seals or leave the brakes dragging dangerously.
