Is a minor engine oil leak urgent or can it wait?

Engine oil leaks often present as minor seepage around components like the valve cover gasket rather than active dripping. While this issue eventually requires a fix, it is typically non-urgent and can be safely monitored over time without risking immediate engine damage.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Monitoring oil levels and topping off regularly
  2. 2
Checking for spots in the driveway or parking spot
  3. 3
Cleaning the area to observe how quickly oil returns

From my quick google search it appears to be the valve cover gasket. Would you consider this leaking or seeping?source ↗
