Why is my website silently blocked without any notification?
Gateway security providers often block domains without notifying the site owner, leaving sites completely unreachable for users on specific networks like Xfinity. Because these blocks bypass standard blacklists and provide no alerts, owners only discover the issue by accident, which prevents them from diagnosing downtime or restoring access for visitors.
What people tried
Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.
- 1Checking URLs via status tools
- 2Requesting reviews and unblock listings through provider forms
- 3Calling support lines repeatedly
- 4Adding www to URLs to test if the block bypasses subdomain checks
- 5Getting the domain delisted from SURBL
- 6Helping clients navigate domain blocklist removal
