What to feed a newborn kitten with diarrhea overnight?

An orphaned, very young kitten who won't drink much formula has developed sudden diarrhea and refuses to eat while waiting for the vet to open in the morning. This leaves worried finders stranded overnight without knowing how to provide proper nutrition or safely handle the illness.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
mixing regular food with formula to make kitten gruel
  2. 2
giving kitten formula instead of regular milk or unsuitable food
  3. 3
waiting for veterinary clinics to open for professional evaluation
  4. 4
Tried feeding with a small spoon instead of a syringe or bottle

He doesn't drink much, but still drinks. The problem is that the veterinary clinic opens at 10 am, and it's almost midnight now.source ↗
