What job title should I apply for with HR experience?

General HR professionals trying to transition often struggle to figure out which roles match their experience and offer room for growth without requiring tasks they dislike, like accounting. Without a clear target title, it becomes difficult to know what jobs to apply for or how to find a role that pays a livable wage.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Asking colleagues or online communities for advice on market alignment
  2. 2
Looking at various HR tracks like generalist, HRBP, or operations
  3. 3
Applying for entry-level bookkeeper roles doing accounts receivable and accounts payable
