Why are knee pads always too bulky and loose on a slim frame?

Standard knee pads are too bulky for active flooring and installation work, making it impossible to move around freely without them constantly shifting out of place. Because slim workers cannot get a snug, secure fit, they end up spending more time adjusting their pads than actually wearing them.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Using single strap foam knee pads for smaller jobs
  2. 2
Switching to full shin knee guards for longer work sessions
  3. 3
Buying a half mask for a tighter seal
  4. 4
Using a 3M respirator if sanding fresh drywall
  5. 5
Checking if two fingers fit under the collar
  6. 6
Removing bells attached to the collar
  7. 7
    buying clothes a bit bigger
  8. 8
    shopping at Costco

Im probably a bit paranoid lol so forgive me, I just don’t want her to be uncomfortable. It’s her first time wearing a collar and I don’t know if it’s the fur but it looks mad tight, disappears under the fur as well. She also keeps her head a bit low.source ↗
