Why did flushable cat litter clog my pipes?
Products marketed as flushable cat litter, like tofu litter, do not actually break down in plumbing and will eventually cause severe blockages. Even after a year of seemingly successful use, the buildup creates clogs severe enough to require a professional plumber or extensive pipe replacement. Substituting standard toilet paper with tissues or unidentified absorbent items also leads to stubborn blockages trapped directly below the toilet flange.
