How to install a vanity over floor pipes in a tight space
When water supply lines come up through the floor inside a tight alcove, you cannot simply drop the cabinet straight down over them. This leaves installers with almost no wiggle room to maneuver a heavy 48-inch vanity into a narrow opening without hitting the pipes.
What people tried
Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.
- 1Cutting holes in the bottom of the vanity and lifting/lowering it directly over the pipes
- 2Removing vanity doors to hold it from the inside while placing it
- 3Cutting the water lines shorter to reduce the height needed to lift the vanity
