Oil pressure light came on right after an oil change

An illuminated oil pressure light shortly after service creates immediate uncertainty over whether it is safe to keep driving or if the vehicle needs to be parked immediately. This leaves drivers anxious about whether they can safely commute or if they risk severe engine damage before getting it to a shop.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
deciding whether to drive the vehicle or have it checked
  2. 2
    Topping off on oil
  3. 3
Planning to replace the oil pressure sensor

In my 2015 jeep grand Cherokee my oil pressure light came on followed by the check engine shortly after. I just got the oil changed. Am I ok to drive until I get it checked?source ↗
