Why is my outdoor faucet pitched backward?
Freezeless outdoor faucets are incorrectly installed sloping toward the house instead of outward, which stops trapped water from draining when closed. This leaves standing water inside the pipe that can easily freeze, expand, and burst the line behind finished interior walls during cold weather.
What people tried
Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.
- 1Using a strap to pull the pipe up and adjust the slope.
