Who do you hire to remove a built-in wall AC and patch the hole?
People don't know whether a general contractor or another specialist handles removing a wall air conditioner and fixing both the drywall and exterior siding. Homeowners also get stuck trying to figure out how to unseal or slide out stuck units that won't budge.
What people tried
Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.
- 1Hiring a general contractor to coordinate carpenters and siding specialists
- 2Hiring a handyman
- 3Leaving the unit in place as a backup or hanging a picture over it
- 4pulling or sliding the side panel
- 5removing tape holding components in place
