Stripped oil pan drain plug threads won't tighten or spin
Over-tightening an oil pan drain plug strips the soft metal threads in the pan, leaving the plug spinning in place or unable to thread back in. This prevents you from sealing the oil pan, forcing a difficult repair like a thread insert or an expensive full pan replacement.
