How to secure a horizontal evaporator coil to a furnace

Manufacturer instructions for mounting the equipment are vague and typically supply only a single, flimsy flat bracket. This lack of clear guidance leaves installers guessing about how to properly attach the coil to the furnace and whether additional hardware is required.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Using insulated foam tape cut into narrow strips
  2. 2
Adding custom screws or alternative fastening methods beyond the supplied brackets

The instructions are not clear on how the coil should be secured to the furnace.source ↗

All it says is to attach the coil to the furnace and the plenum to the coil using the hardware provided, hence my need for clarification.source ↗
