How to stop LVP from moving when going room to room

To keep planks from shifting while finishing a multi-room installation, lock small pieces of flooring into the open ends and screw them down to the subfloor. This blocks the leading edges, allowing you to work room by room without the installed floor moving out of place.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Screwing small pieces of locked planks down to block the ends
  2. 2
Planning to have areas cleared and prepped beforehand so early rows run continuously from one end to the next wall
  3. 3
Seeking advice from professionals on forums
  4. 4
Starting in the largest room and running the planks the long way
  5. 5
Starting in multiple rooms simultaneously to avoid having to click planks in backwards
