Rental home improvements that are actually worth making

Spending large sums on a home you might leave in a few years feels unwise and like renovating someone else's house. Worthwhile rental upgrades make the living space noticeably better without dumping a bunch of money into property you do not own.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Change the shower head and remove the flow restrictor!
  2. 2
added contact paper to shelves, hung curtains and some art.
  3. 3
shower head and hung a hand towel bar.
