Said It Here

Why do visitors leave product pages without buying?

Shoppers drop off before checkout because they have a specific question about the product and cannot find anyone to ask. Without getting that final doubt resolved right on the page, they leave unsure if it is the right fit.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
improving product photos and sizing information
  2. 2
    simplifying the buying process
  3. 3
putting a contact form in the footer

the drop-off wasn't photos or sizing, it was people reading the whole product page and still not being sure it was the right unit for their pool.source ↗

Analytics showed them as 'viewed product, left'. What they actually were was 'had one question, found nobody to ask'.source ↗
