Should I use my personal phone number for a new business?

Mixing personal and business phone numbers makes it impossible to separate professional calls from private life. Setting up a dedicated business line, such as a Google Voice number, keeps your personal contact information private while organizing customer communications.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
    getting another line with your carrier using eSIM
  2. 2
    using Google Voice
  3. 3
    creating QR codes in Canva or another free platform
  4. 4
    getting a secondary phone number via Google Voice
  5. 5
    telling clients that the phone number changed

I would rather them call the Google Voice number too, so I can separate work from my personal number.source ↗

I’m in the process of getting things set up for my business and one thing that always stood out to me is business cards with QR codes, so it’s a quick easy snap of a phones camera and bam- website, social media, etc info right at your fingertips.source ↗
