Why do brand size charts give numbers way smaller than normal clothes?

Brand-specific size charts often point to measurements that result in a much smaller size than standard retail clothing, leaving buyers confused about what size to actually order. This mismatch makes standard sizing unreliable and stops people from being able to trust or use online measurements to buy clothes that fit.

when I was young, and had a 27 inch waist, I was a size 6-8. So yeah I agree this size chart is a little weirdsource ↗

I took my measurements and I’m baffled by the size chart.source ↗

Size chart shows that would be a size A2?! I usually wear anywhere from a US size 6-10 depending on the fit of the dress. What am I doing wrongsource ↗
