Why are valid credit cards getting declined for no reason?

Checkout systems sometimes block legitimate cards without triggering a bank notification or giving a clear error message. This leaves store owners unable to process sales and prevents customers from completing purchases despite trying multiple cards.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
looking at the decline reason in the checkout timeline
  2. 2
using different cards from different banks
  3. 3
checking out with saved card vs Apple Pay
  4. 4
    re-adding address and card information
  5. 5
    disabling VPN
  6. 6
attempting purchases in browser and app
  7. 7
waiting overnight in case of server errors
