Where do translation adjustments post in NetSuite?

During the month-end close, NetSuite automatically routes foreign currency amounts and unrelated out-of-balance issues directly into the cumulative translation adjustment (CTA or CTA-E) account. Because these discrepancies are silently absorbed into the CTA line, it remains unclear whether specific adjustments belong there or in an alternative account.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

Consulting native balance audit reports and reviewing external technical documentation or blog posts.

With that being the case, should NetSuite post the $250 AUD into the cumulative translation adjustment (CTA) account as part of the month end close checklist process?source ↗

Should this have posted to CTA-E in that case?source ↗
