How to automatically turn meeting transcripts into to-do lists

Meeting recordings are full of filler chat like small talk and technical checks that require tedious manual scrubbing before an AI can process them. People want to automatically capture voice, clean out the clutter, and pipe clean action items directly into their productivity tools without copying and pasting.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Manually copying and pasting recordings into AI models like Claude to have them generate action items
  2. 2
Using multiple disparate apps like Notion, Notta AI, and Zoom without a fully integrated automated flow
  3. 3
Using AI/LLMs (such as chatbots) to parse transcripts and format them into task lists, minutes, or risk registers
  4. 4
Instructing AI to ignore intros and nonsense from minute X onwards, or defining speaker names for the AI
  5. 5
Using LLMs to write code formulae for tricky Excel spreadsheets when lacking advanced skills
