How do you entertain a 4 month old baby all day?

Infants at this stage require constant engagement, but standard toys quickly lose their novelty and leave parents feeling uninspired. This monotony makes long stretches at home feel tedious and leaves caregivers struggling to find stimulating ways to pass the day together.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Putting the baby on a play activity mat to roll around, suck on toys, or do tummy time
  2. 2
Multitasking by reading books or crocheting while baby plays
  3. 3
Going for walks or listening to music together
  4. 4
Placing the baby in a bouncer to watch everyday chores like cooking or cleaning
  5. 5
Attending baby-friendly movie screenings, sensory classes, library storytimes, or baby swim
