Said It Here

Why is my fridge ice maker making ice so slowly?

Ice makers often slow down due to a restricted water supply, a partially frozen fill tube, or an incorrect freezer temperature setting. When production drops significantly, it leaves you without enough ice for daily use and usually points to an underlying mechanical or airflow restriction.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
    Replacing the ice maker assembly
  2. 2
Manually pressing the test button to make ice drop
  3. 3
Regularly defrosting the back of the fridge every two weeks
  4. 4
    Installing a secondary aftermarket heater

The ice maker is pretty slow to make ice and when it does, it doesn't make a whole lot.source ↗
