Can I get a refund if the mechanic didn't fix my car?

Auto shops often refuse cash refunds for a misdiagnosis by claiming they still provided a service, offering only shop credit instead. Customers usually reject this credit because they no longer trust the mechanics, leaving them stuck paying out of pocket again to fix the shop's mistake.
