How to set up employer contributions without vendor support

Configuring a new per-employee contribution requires figuring out the process entirely on your own. Internal finance teams do not know what to do, and essential vendors across retirement, payroll, and QuickBooks are currently unequipped to assist. Even after speaking to multiple support representatives, administrators are left without any guidance on how to actually execute the employer portion in their systems.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

Writing a proposal based on what other companies are doing or trying to gather contribution options for leadership to choose from.

“Finance has no idea how to do it, but they figure hardly anyone will be in the program this year so they're fine with it. None of our vendors are helping in this, not retirement, not payroll, nobody is ready.”source ↗
