Why does Office 365 show zero required updates?
Management tools often display incorrect missing update counts or false positives, especially for Office applications after channel changes. This inaccurate reporting hides the actual compliance status and leaves administrators unable to verify if required updates have been successfully applied.
What people tried
Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.
- 1Disabling cloud-based auto-updates to maintain patch level control
- 2Checking deployment settings and detection rules
- 3Testing configuration changes to manage unmanaged clients
- 4Manually reviewing diagnostic findings to filter out false positives.
