Ex monitoring child location during my custody time

Co-parents often disagree over keeping location-sharing enabled on a child's phone during custody handoffs. Having active tracking during the other parent's time can feel like an invasion of privacy and creates ongoing tension between households.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
Turn off location sharing when the child is with you
  2. 2
Leave the phone at the other parent's house or at home during your parenting time
  3. 3
Get a second separate phone or flip phone for when the child is with you

The only thing I dislike is having her location on. I don't like the fact they can see everywhere we go. It just feels like an invasion of privacy.source ↗

OP, I have this same issue with my ex. I don’t get my kids location when he is at his dad’s house either. Word for word, the girlfriend pays for it. I hope you figure out a solution, because I would love to know!source ↗
