How to tighten a loose faucet on rotted particle board
When water damage rots the underlying MDF or particle board, the mounting hardware loses its grip and has nothing solid to anchor against. This prevents the faucet from staying tight, causing it to wobble continuously every time the handle is used.

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.
- 1Remove the faucet, glue and screw a new piece of plywood underneath, and drill a new hole.
- 2Install a small metal plate or tie down plate between the faucet bracket and the damaged counter.
