Why won't my seller account update my email address?

Platforms often fail to process email changes due to technical errors or account mapping restrictions, frequently reverting the change or displaying failure messages. This prevents sellers from updating crucial account details like name changes, often forcing them to abandon the attempt or risk breaking their account history.

What people tried

Every workaround mentioned in the threads below. We haven’t tested any of them — and nobody here is claiming they worked.

  1. 1
continuing to use the old email address instead of the new one
  2. 2
Refusing to update user UPNs or primary identifiers
  3. 3
Maintaining multiple Okta accounts for a single user
  4. 4
Keeping display names and email aliases static instead of changing primary attributes
